Automatic Part Painting
For high-volume parts with repeating geometry, the whole application can be automated. Solutions that work with a fixed gun array and need no robot are both more economical and faster for such work.
How the process works
Parts are hung by an automatic feed system or travel on a belt. Fixed-position guns apply as the part passes in front of them. Unlike a robot there is no program; the setting is mechanical and, once made, does not change.
The limit of this approach is variety. When a part of different geometry arrives, the gun array must be reset. If the product family is narrow and stable the investment pays back quickly; where variety is high, a robot is the more suitable solution.
