Acoustic Enclosures
The most effective way to deal with noise is to enclose the source. Treating the whole space is both more expensive and less effective; an enclosure contains the sound where it is generated.
How the process works
Acoustic performance depends on panel mass and the properties of the absorbing material inside. What really decides the outcome, however, are the weak points of the enclosure: the door seal, cable penetrations and the ventilation opening. A single leaking point can render the panel’s performance meaningless.
The enclosed equipment still needs cooling. Silencers are fitted in the ventilation ducts; a labyrinth geometry lets air pass while preventing sound from escaping through the duct.
